Master’s Degree Programme in Dance Performance consists of two years of intense studies. They focus on a diverse exploration of performance practices within the frameworks of dance and related art forms.The studies offer a possibility to deepen your understanding of the history and theory of dance performance in safe and collegial platform of artistic experimenting.
Studies aim to resonate and correspond with topical issues present on the art field. As a student you can focus on the working methods, positions and traditions you find interesting to your artistic practice. You will build up your skills as a solo performer, as well as an active and reflective member of artistic working group.
The studies support your development as unique artist and performer, in relation to the changing society and notions of art and humanity. The programme collaborates with other degree programmes and the Performing Arts Research Center of Theatre Academy. Studies include a broad section of optional studies, that can be pursued in multiple ways, as training in professional field, courses in the university or elsewhere, or as own artistic projects.
The programme is regularly visited by multiple national and international teachers. Primary language of the studies is English or Finnish, depending on the current student cohort.
Applying
The programme is open to international students and is tuition free for EU / EEA students. Admissions to the programme are every other year and in spring 2021 three to five new students will be accepted into the programme.
