Moi
Dear Reader
In this blog I would like to share my experiences in preparing for Kuvan Kevät. I would like to share my ideas my expectations and hopes and give you an insight into the process of preparing for Kuvan Kevät.
To tell you a bit about me: I am originally from Switzerland. As soon as I finished school I moved to Scotland to study painting and printmaking at the Glasgow School of Art where I finished my bachelor studies after four years. I stayed in Glasgow for another two years working for artists and in a print studio before coming to Finland. Now almost two years have passed and I have become comfortable and happy in Finland.
I spend my normal day in the studio drinking tea moving things around and working on a couple of things at the same time. This process is very important to me and I try to feed this back into my work. Kuvan Kevät is a big and serious exhibition for anyone and I am happy to have a deadline to work towards. For me the MA at the Painting department gave me the time and the space to experiment and to develop ideas. It gave me the chance to question my artistic practice up to that point. It also created an environment where I could share my toughs with my peers in and outside of seminars. Kuvan Kevät is the result of all things I’ve done in the past year and a half and all the discussions and experiences and it will show the artist I am today.
