Bios:

Filipa Cruz is an artist, poet, professor, and researcher whose work spans sculpture, literature, and aesthetics. She is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Porto, an Integrated Researcher at i2ADS—Institute of Art, Design and Society, and a Collaborating Researcher at CHAM—Açores. She holds a PhD in Art and Design (University of Porto), a Master’s degree from the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris, and a Postgraduate Diploma from Université Panthéon-Sorbonne. She has exhibited widely in Portugal, France, and Italy, and since 2023 serves as Editor-in-Chief of HUB—Journal of Research in Art, Design and Society. Her artistic and research practice explores insular studies, intertextual strategies, and relational and vulnerable methodologies, weaving together sculpture, literature, and affective approaches. It unfolds through the dialectics of affects, the metaphorology of travel, the engineering of shipwreck, and the annunciation of the ambiguous, forming a literary and sculptural cosmos that ultimately invokes Love.

Mgr. MgA. Markéta Magidová, PhD is the Editor-in-Chief of ArteActa: Journal for Performative Arts and Artistic Research, published by the Academy of Performing Arts. She is also a film director and visual artist. Her short animated films have been screened at major international festivals, and her artworks have been exhibited primarily in Europe and the United States. Between 2015 and 2025, she served as an assistant professor at Charles University in Prague, the University of Hradec Králové, and Prague City University. In her theoretical research, she focuses on the concept of imagination in philosophy, film, visual art, and literature. She is particularly interested in mythological and gender themes. Together with Ondřej Buddeus, she co-edited the collective monograph Sorting Words: Literature and Conceptual Tendencies, 1945–2015 (2015). She has also participated in numerous European artist residencies.
